Tips for Using Cider

Use cider instead of water to make apple sauce.  The cider improve the flavor and needs little if any sugar.
Use apple juice or cider as an easy glaze for turkey, ham or chicken.

For the delicate approach to fish, poach filets in apple juice or cider.

Fill paper cups with apple cider.  Insert a wooden stick and freeze.  You've got a cidersicle!

Cider Slush

Since we’re talking about cider, we must mention this popular frozen treat.  It’s been a big hit at both the Washington County Fair (where our booth is located in the County Bounty Building) and at the Schaghticoke Fair (where we are in the New York Products Building).  We serve it at our farm stand in September and October.

Though this product looks similar to the ground-ice “slushes”, it is NOT ground ice.  This is pure cider, no added sugar or ice!

It’s COLD and it’s GOOD!
